Career Paths for Multidimensional Creatives: Serving God and Society
Why you should start taking your career more seriously.
I believe we are in a unique and critical time where God is setting us all up for the future. Entrepreneurs are pivoting in how they serve and who they serve. Music artists are changing the lyrics in their songs to create music with more meaning. Multiple industries are pivoting into purpose-driven work and I believe this is a God thing.
The future has been heavy on my mind lately, but God is the one stirring the pot.
I’ve been trying to find answers as to why God is causing many of us to pivot into what seems to be new but, I realized something today.
This new pivot may seem new to many but for some of us, we’ve become aware that this pivot was prophesied. God gave me a vision of what my business would look like in 2023 and within the last couple of days, that vision has been coming to life right in front of my eyes. The vision he gave us years ago is starting to rise to the surface after seasons of rigorous pruning and development.
This is the purpose of the pivot.
God has finally aligned many of us to what he has called us to do after eliminating old structures, ideas, and limiting beliefs. The level of faith and delusion some of us are experiencing is a direct result of the seasons that tested and transformed us. Our thinking has gotten broader, our vision has gotten clearer, and all we have to do now is sit back and wait for it to come to life.
I want to share a list of purpose-driven career paths for you because I know what time it is. It’s time to pivot into purpose, with purpose, on purpose. For the sole benefit of operating in our divine calling. If you’ve been confused on what industry you should move into, I pray this list helps you gain clarity.
In The Seven Mountain Prophecy, Johnny Enlow identifies seven key areas—or "mountains"—that shape and influence culture: Media, Government, Education, Economy, Family, Religion, and Arts/Entertainment. These sectors are not just societal constructs; they are arenas where Christians are called to bring transformation and reflect God's kingdom on earth.
1. Music Artists & Performers
Your gifts of melody and rhythm are not just for entertainment—they minister to hearts, inspire hope, and convey truth. Just as David’s music uplifted and healed, your artistry can reflect God’s heart and bring comfort, conviction, and joy to the world (1 Samuel 16:23). You don’t have to follow the trend of Christian Rap or RnB. Make music that speaks to your soul but, also conveys a deeper message of hope, love, and transformation. Let your music go deeper in it’s meaning by reaching into your soul pulling out all of your experiences and telling stories of hurt and redemption. Traditional RnB may be the avenue for you.
2. Visual & Multimedia Creatives
Graphic designers, content creators, filmmakers, and photographers have the power to shape culture, communicate messages, and tell stories that change lives. Scripture reminds us that we are called to do all things for God’s glory (Colossians 3:23). ou have the power to influence others through your creativity. What you experience as a deep moment of intimacy with God may be seen by others simply as 'art.' They might not know the hours you spent in His presence crafting it, but once it’s shared, that authenticity will shine through and touch others.
3. Multidimensional Entrepreneurs
Creatives who launch businesses that intersect artistry, tech, and service are building more than companies—they’re building communities, training others, and creating opportunities for social impact. Entrepreneurship can be a ministry when the purpose aligns with God’s kingdom.
4. Biblically Spiritual Gifted Professionals
Prophetic voices, teachers, counselors, and ministry leaders channel wisdom and guidance that equips others. These roles influence communities, provide clarity, and help people navigate life with faith. (1 Corinthians 12:4–7)
5. Community Builders & Mentors
Coaches, consultants, and program developers cultivate growth in others. They empower people to recognize their God-given gifts, step into purpose, and contribute positively to society. Think of my company, Living in Pursuit as an example.
The key? Alignment and impact. Whatever your creative gift or spiritual calling, your work should honor God, serve others, and leave a lasting imprint on your community. When you operate in purpose, your career becomes more than a job—it becomes a platform for influence and transformation.
Use your gifts to glorify God, no matter what industry you find yourself being led to. Don’t question the industry. Embrace the fact that God sent you there for a purpose, with purpose. Nothing in your current/past career is wasted. He uses it ALL for your next purpose-driven career move.
